One of my favourite scents

Writer: Martha ChanMartha Chan

As a florist, I have a great passion for flowers and am fortunate enough to work with various types. However, that doesn't mean I fancy all flowers, especially when it comes to their scent. Personally, I enjoy the fragrance of Quick sand and Sahara roses, but find Hyacinthus too spicy and strong for my liking.

Today, I received a beautiful sage bush called Buddleja Salviifolia. This particular Buddleja Salviifolia is native to southern Africa and produces fragrant flowers from late autumn to winter.

When I first laid eyes on this sage bush, its soft purple colour immediately caught my attention. As I became more acquainted with its scent, the subtle musky aroma provided me with a present and calming feeling. The scent of it has become one of my favourites. Many perfumes contain sagewood in order to add a delicate earthy tone. With its bushy appearance and relaxing musky note of scent, Buddleja Salviifolia is perfect for decorating your living or working space. Simply place a bunch in a vase, it looks lovely on its own.
