Last week, I created a round bouquet for a client. I hadn’t made a round bouquet in a while, as in the last two years, it seems brides have preferred airy or cascading bouquets. However, this client requested a round bouquet that was pink with a touch of red, not too large, and conveyed happiness, cuteness, elegance, and love.

To achieve this, I used Cambodian orchids and roses to give the bouquet a luxurious and elegant feel. I played with the placement and texture of the pink flowers, adding a pop of red to evoke happiness, cuteness, and love. Finally, I included the green + mauve hellebores to add depth to the overall colour theme.
I’m quite satisfied with the result, and the bride loved it as well.
From my recent freelance work and requests, I’ve noticed a trend towards minimalist, elegant weddings, which I believe could be popular in the coming season and even in 2025.
In terms of colour, while more colourful flowers were popular earlier this year, I’ve noticed brides are now leaning towards floral arrangements with one or two main colours. Some even prefer a single type of flower or a small round cluster of blooms to exude simple beauty and elegance. Popular flowers for creating this simplicity include calla lilies, tulips, cosmos, baby’s breath, and roses.
However, trends are just a reference. To all brides, your personal preferences are our priority. For instance, I always dreamed of a wedding decorated with yellow flowers, but for some reason, my wedding ended up being pink and white (which all my close friends know is not my style). Perhaps I wasn’t confident enough at the time to ask my florist to step away from the traditional colour scheme. Even now, I’m eager to create a yellow floral decoration for a client bride in the near future.
