Halloween Bouquet

With Halloween approaching, have you ever considered using flowers to create a spooky vibe at your party? While pumpkins, skeletons, and spiderwebs are classic, flowers can add a hauntingly elegant touch. For those who prefer not to overcrowd their space with too many props, a vase or a bunch of flowers can add the perfect Halloween ambiance in a clean and classy way.

While most people focus on colour palettes like orange, black, white, and purple to match the Halloween theme, I discovered some uniquely shaped flowers at the market that bring an equally spooky vibe to floral arrangements.

Lachnostachys Eriobotrya (Lambswool): This quirky flower was a new discovery for me. Native to Western Australia, its small, dense, spiky clusters of creamy-white flowers have a fuzzy texture. To me, they appear like tiny skull heads—an ideal fit for a spooky theme!

Pastini Gerbera: The first thing that caught my eye was its curly petals, which twist like thousands of long, swirling, spooky fingers crawling out. Pastini Gerberas come in various colours, but the one I found, called 'Pastini Covara,' is cream with a hint of pink in the centre, adding an eerie vibe.

Kangaroo Paw: A popular Australian native, this flower gets its name from its shape, which looks like a kangaroo’s paw. While typically found in red, orange, or yellow, I was thrilled to find a “neon green” with black version, which is perfect for Halloween!

Amaranthus: A favourite for floral installations, Amaranthus flowers feature densely packed, drooping spikes that come in shades of red, purple, gold, and green. Many are preserved and dyed in more colours. For this arrangement, I used black preserved Amaranthus, draping it like a ghostly cloth to create a creepy feel.

So, Voila!

Can't wait to explore something more interesting next Halloween!
